KU Crime Blotter: Week of Feb. 8 through Feb. 14

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Feb. 8, and Sunday, Feb. 14. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Feb. 14

• Someone burglarized the equipment rental office at Ambler Student Recreation Center between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14. The person broke into the office while it was closed, pried open the cash register drawer and attempted to steal money. Damage to the drawer was estimated at $500.

• Police stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in the 1500 block of Sunflower Road and found the driver to be operating a vehicle under the influence. The person was arrested.

Feb. 12

• An assault occurred about 4:45 p.m. Feb. 6 at Ellsworth Hall. Two people struck another individual in a dorm room.

• While serving a search warrant in a dorm room about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Hashinger Hall, police found someone in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The person was arrested.

• Someone cut a lock and stole a bicycle from the rack outside Ellsworth Hall, between Feb. 11 and Feb. 12. Loss was estimated at $350, damage at $20.

Feb. 11

• Police found someone asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle parked in a handicap stall in Lot 101, in the 1500 block of Engel Road, about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 11. The person was found to be intoxicated, and there were alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle. The person was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence and consuming alcohol in public.

• Someone stole a moped on Feb. 11 from Lot 206, in the 2300 block of Irving Hill Road. Loss was estimated at $500.

• Someone stole a North Face brand jacket and a car key on Feb. 11 from Summerfield Hall. Loss was estimated at $110.

Feb. 10

• Someone vandalized a vehicle with spray paint Feb. 9 in Lot 90, in the 1800 block of Naismith Drive. Damage was estimated at $100.

Feb. 9

• Police found someone in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia about 3:10 a.m. Feb. 9 at Lewis Hall. The person was arrested.

Feb. 8

• Someone stole four slabs of ribs from the Oliver Hall kitchen, between Jan. 29 and Feb. 5. The ribs were valued at $80.
