Kansas claims track victories

Kansas University’s track and field team received victories from freshman Ivan Henry, senior Jaime Wilson, sophomore Jaron Hartley and senior Drew Matthews in the men’s 4×400-meter relay, and from sophomore Nicolai Ceban in the shot put Saturday in the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.

The KU women had a season-best in the 4×400-meter relay, with junior Whitney Adams, junior Zainab Sanni, freshman Nicole Montgomery and sophomore Adriana Newell placing fifth in 3:40.30.

The Jayhawks split their squads, with part of the team going to Ames, Iowa, for the ISU Classic. KU junior Strymar Livingston ran one of the fastest indoor 800 times in school history, finishing eighth in 1:49.16, which was a career best indoors for Livingston.

Other career bests for KU in Ames came from junior Daniel Koech (800m, 1:52.80), junior Kelli McKenna (mile, 4:57.22), sophomore Matt Anyiwo (800m, 1:53.54) and sophomore Hannah Dimmick (800m, 2:11.74).
