A home at 1518 Oak Hill Ave. was taped off Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, after police said a 52-year-old man was stabbed.

A man critically injured after he was stabbed last month is still receiving medical treatment, police said.

The morning of Nov. 18, police arrived at 1518 Oak Hill Ave. and found 52-year-old James William Conlon with multiple stab wounds, said Lawrence Police Sgt. Amy Rhoads. Shortly thereafter Wynn Sterling Antrim Anderson, 32, was arrested. He now faces felony charges of attempted second-degree murder and making a criminal threat.

Conlon was hospitalized after the incident. On Thursday Rhoads said his condition was stable.

Anderson remains an inmate in the Douglas County Jail. He is being held in lieu of a $105,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20, when a date will be set for his preliminary hearing.

At a preliminary hearing, Anderson will have a chance to respond to the charges filed against him and a judge will decide if enough evidence exists to order him to stand trial.

Anderson is accused of threatening Conlon on Oct. 29. Police were called but Anderson was not arrested after that incident. He was, however, arrested later that same day on suspicion of indecent exposure after Rhoads said he was “outside without any clothes on causing a disturbance.”

Anderson has lived at the home on Oak Hill Avenue, just across the street from Oak Hill Cemetery, since at least 2012, court records show. He has been arrested a number of times over the past six years and has at least three domestic battery convictions and one assault conviction.

Rhoads has declined to comment on the nature of Anderson’s relationship with Conlon and the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
