Motorists along East 1200 Road approach a stop sign at an intersection that connects East 1200 Road and the South Lawrence Trafficway just south of the Kasold curve on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

For the second straight week, the Douglas County Commission will met Wednesday with a very limited agenda.

Commissioners will consider a letter from the Lawrence-Douglas County Bicycle Advisory Committee, asking the county to work with the city of Lawrence and the Kansas Department of Transportation to maintain access “through or around” Kansas Highway 10 at the Kasold Drive/East 1200 Road intersection. KDOT plans to change the intersection to a right-on, right-off configuration with the opening of the South Lawrence Trafficway this fall. The committee also sent the letter to the city of Lawrence.

The Douglas County Commission generally meets at 4 p.m. Wednesdays at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St. Complete agendas may be found at douglascountyks.org.
