The six finalists for the Lawrence City Commission vacancy answered submitted questions from the general public and an advisory committee Thursday at City Hall.

The six finalists will answer another round of questions on Thursday, Oct. 1, during a public interview session at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall.
At the end of the meeting, the four current commissioners will select the final one or two candidates for the vacant seat. Those chosen Thursday will move on to an Oct. 6 meeting at which the City Commission will nominate and elect the new commissioner.
