Lawrence City Commission vacancy: Finalist profiles
Candidates to be selected tonight for Oct. 1 interviews

An editor, professor, pediatrician, attorney, engineer and geologist make up the list of final candidates being considered for the City Commission vacancy left by former Mayor Jeremy Farmer.
City commissioners will decide Tuesday which of the six will move on to a final interview Thursday — the last step in the selection process before city commissioners vote Oct. 6.
According to rules for the selection process, commissioners can cut any of the six or add any qualified candidates.
There will be time for public comment about the candidates at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting, 5:45 p.m. at City Hall.
