Topeka ? Erin Ventura went 3-0 and Payton Smith 2-1 as Lawrence High’s tennis team defeated St. James Academy, 3-1, and Topeka High, 4-0, and lost to Washburn Rural, 3-1, on Monday at Kossover courts. In doubles, Maddie Mask and Carole Baloga went 1-2 and Betsy Smoot and Natalie Cote, 2-1.

“We did not play well over the weekend. I thought we played much better today,” coach Chris Marshall said. “We played pretty good tennis. I thought Erin played some of her best tennis today.”

LHS will travel to the Topeka Invitational on Wednesday.
