Emporia ? Lawrence High’s boys and girls cross country teams both raced to fifth-place finishes Saturday at the Emporia Invitational.

On the girls side, Morgan Jones cracked the top 10 with a 5,000-meter time of 21:02.9 to place ninth, while teammate Anna DeWitt followed in 17th as she clocked in at 21:44.5.

Nathan Pederson paced the LHS boys with a 5,000-meter time of 17:56.3, good for 22nd.
