Two taken by ambulance after one falls from third-floor balcony
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical took two people to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a person fell from a third-floor balcony of a Legends Place apartment, 4101 W. 24th Place.
Medics were originally dispatched around 3:20 p.m. when the initial report of a “long fall” was called in. Medics took the person who fell to the hospital for treatment shortly after.
Around 3:50 p.m., medics on scene requested a second unit come to take another person inside the third-floor apartment to the hospital.
Just after 4 p.m., a Lawrence police officer and medics walked a man down from the apartment and into an ambulance. He did not appear to be injured. Law enforcement had bound the man’s wrists together in front of him.
