Pharmaceutical company establishes lab at KU’s BTBC

California-based Stason Pharmaceuticals has established a new lab at Kansas University, in the Bioscience and Technology Business Center, KU announced.

The new location will serve as a testing lab for Stason-manufactured pharmaceuticals and begin operations with one employee, likely growing to three within a year, according to KU. Positions will be laboratory managers and technicians.

Eventually, the company plans to expand further and has indicated an interest in moving parts of its warehousing and distribution space to Lawrence, according to KU.

Stason becomes the 15th tenant company in the Bioscience and Technology Business Center Main Facility on KU’s West Campus and the 35th tenant in the Bioscience and Technology Business Center system, which also includes the Expansion Facility on Wakarusa Drive and the KU Medical Center facility.

Stason has located several affiliate companies into BTBC facilities, including Stason Animal Health, CK9, IMT Labs and KC Specialty Therapeutics, according to KU.
