40 years ago: New Social Welfare dean named at KU

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for May 21, 1975:

Theodore Ernst, professor and director of the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska, was appointed dean of the School of Social Welfare at Kansas University, effective July 1. The announcement was made this week by the offices of Delbert Shankel, executive vice chancellor, and Ambrose Saricks, vice chancellor for academic affairs. Ernst’s appointment ended a year-long search for a dean to replace Arthur Katz, who had resigned the previous year to return to teaching. In a prepared statement, Shankel said, “Professor Ernst comes to us with high recommendations and a distinguished record in his field. He was the first choice of our search and selection committee.”
