Thunderstorms, at times severe, roared through Lawrence Saturday night, dropping 1.73 inches of rain.

About 1.7 inches of rain fell during the most active part of the storm, from about 8 p.m Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service rainfall totals at Lawrence Municipal Airport.

Some areas in Kansas experienced flash floods. There is a flood warning for the Marais Des Cygnes River at Osawatomie from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, and a flood warning for the Neosho River near Emporia until Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka.

Saturday's storms made way for summer-like weather on Sunday for Kansas University's 2015 commencement. Sunshine with a high of 84 degrees is expected throughout the day, with a breeze and possible wind gusts.

Monday's forecast calls for sun and mild temperatures, with a high of 72.
