Missouri knocks Kansas softball out at regional

? An early two-run lead and a late four-run rally weren’t quite enough to extend the Kansas University softball team’s NCAA Tournament run Sunday at Missouri, where the Tigers beat the Jayhawks, 7-6, to advance out of the Columbia regional.

KU’s Erin McGinley went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Chaley Brickey, Jessie Raone, Briana Evans and Taylor McElhaney each drove in a run, but Mizzou scored three runs in the second and four runs in the third to hold on and win the regional.

KU, making its second straight tournament appearance, finished the season 40-15.
