Today in Lawrence: A break from the rain; bid city manager farewell

Ray of light

Today will be sunny, with a high near 64. Might not be a great skirt day, though: It’ll be breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight will be clear, with a low around 41. Tuesday will see abundant sunshine, too, with a high of 72.

Saying goodbye

Tonight is the public reception for departing city manager David Corliss at 5:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Building, 200 W. Ninth St. Come and wish him well as he departs Lawrence after serving with the city since 1990. He is going to Castle Rock, Colo.
