Aquahawks openings: The Aquahawks are always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. Vaulter fundraiser: Jordan Scott, a former Kansas University pole vaulter now training in Lawrence, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance his quest to compete in the 2016 Olympics. Basketball camp: The Lawrence High Lady Lion basketball program will offer two summer camps for all girls interested in playing basketball. Jayhawk Model Masters: The Jayhawk Model Masters are providing a “Free Air Show” on May 9 at the model airplane field below Clinton dam. The R/C Air Show will 9 a.m.-4 p.m. We are expecting a 140″ Twin Engine Beech 18 and a Turbine Powered Jet to fly and many other Giant Scale aircraft. Concessions and facilities are on site. Spectators are appreciated.

Youth CrossFit camp: A Jayahwker CrossFit youth camp for youths aged 12-18 will be held 2-3:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays in June ($155) and July ($175). Both months together cost $300. The camp will consist of body-weight and odd-object movements, while also focusing on proper mobility work and conditioning to give young athletes a better foundation to progress in their sport and be more healthy all around.
