LHS baseball edges SM North

? Lawrence High’s baseball team drilled 12 hits and beat Shawnee Mission North, 4-3, on Tuesday at the 3&2 Baseball Complex.

The Lions scored two runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from senior Michael Sinks, and never trailed throughout the contest. Senior Steven Garcia added an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Meanwhile, senior pitcher Nolan Prochaska gave up just two runs on six hits in five innings before junior Brad Kincaid tossed the last two innings, striking out four to earn the save.

“We hit the ball really well,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “I thought we were aggressive at the plate, put some pressure on them.”

The Lions (6-11) will travel to Olathe East at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
