Just under half an inch of rain fell on Lawrence on Monday, said Jeff Johnson of the National Weather Service in Topeka.

As of 9:45 p.m., 42-hundredths of an inch of rain had fallen on the area, Johnson said.

Scattered storms are expected to continue into the evening and possibly into Tuesday morning, Johnson said.

“There are continued chances of rain all night,” he said. “But the heaviest activity has already passed us by.”
