  • Frontier Farm Credit has announced the promotion of Mark Knoll and Judy Cates. Knoll will now work as the company’s country home loan officer; he has been with the company for the past 31 years. Cates will now work as the new country home loan specialist in the Baldwin office; she has been with the company for 38 years.
  • David Mattern, managing director-investment officer with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, has been recognized as a 2015 Five Star Wealth Manager. Criteria for the recognition include client retention rates, client assets administered, firm review and favorable regulatory and complaint history.
  • The Kansas Branch of the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest has presented Lori Harse, executive director of Lawrence Habitat for Humanity, with the 2015 Public Service Award. The award is reserved for individuals who distinguish themselves through their contributions to community service, education, philanthropy, peace and justice.
  • Licensed Master Social Worker Marcia Epstein participated in this year’s Annual Conference of the American Association of Suicidology in Atlanta. The conference is for those dedicated to preventing suicide. Through her work, Epstein provides counseling, consultation and training.
  • Summers, Spencer and Company, P.A., has hired Lori Button, Dan Spencer and Joe Anderson. Button, a Washburn University graduate, will work as a senior accountant. Spencer, a Duke University graduate, will work as a senior tax accountant. Anderson, a Washburn University graduate, will work as a staff accountant.
