TEDx on the big screen

Did you miss TEDxLawrence at Liberty Hall in March? You have a chance to see the TEDxLawrence presentations on the screen at the Video Launch Party at Theatre Lawrence! The screening of presentations will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today at Theatre Lawrence, 4660 Bauer Farm Drive. There will be opportunities to meet TEDxLawrence speakers and organizers. The theater’s beverage bar will be open for business. The event is free, and everyone is welcome.

Dancing on point

The Point B Dance Carnival is a celebration of dance featuring jazz, hip hop, and contemporary styles of dance. New works will be performed by the 30 talented and creative members of the AIM Dance Company of Lawrence. Come see where art meets entertainment. Wild and Scenic Film Festival

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival puts the wilds on the big screen. The festival is similar to the Banff Mountain Film festival, which features environmental films and documentaries. This is a big event in which we (Friends of the Kaw, an environmental organization that preserves and protects the Kansas River) are giving away a kayak! Try something new from a kitchen on wheels: The Kansas Food Truck Festival is from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Warehouse Arts District, Eighth and Pennsylvania streets. Try everything from local favorites to out-of-town culinary delights. Cost is $10; children 12 and younger are admitted free.
