KU baseball falls in finale at Tech

? Kansas University limited Texas Tech to just four hits, but the Red Raiders made the most of them in a Big 12 baseball series-clinching 3-2 victory over the Jayhawks on Sunday at Rip Griffin Park.

KU (10-17 overall, 1-2) outhit the Red Raiders (18-10, 3-3), 7-4, and Kansas’ Blair Beck had the game’s only extra-base hit — a double — but the Jayhawks stranded 10 runners.

Drew Morovick allowed just two earned runs off three hits over 62/3 innings, but the loss went to reliever Stephen Villines (1-1), who allowed the game-winning run in his one inning.

“After getting beat up yesterday, we needed a quality start,” Price said. “Morovick gave us an outstanding performance. He held them to two runs, and we played solid defense behind him, which gave us an opportunity to play offense and try to win the game.”

Connor McKay and Beck each had two hits.

Kansas will travel Wednesday to Wichita State. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
