FSHS baseball belts Branson

? Free State High’s baseball team completed a two-day trip to southwest Missouri with a 7-4 victory over Branson on Saturday.

Hunter Gudde went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, and Casey Hearnen earned the win with three innings of hitless relief.

The Firebirds defeated Ozark on Friday.

“Coming away with two victories, that’s the most important thing,” FSHS coach Mike Hill said. “We identified some things we need to work on, but we did some good things, too, which is what you’d expect at this time of the season.”

Zion Bowlin, Cooper Karlin, Joel Spain and Jon Saathoff each had two hits for Free State, including a double by Saathoff.

The Firebirds (4-0) will travel to Shawnee Mission East at 4:30 p.m. Friday at 3&2 fields.
