KU visiting artist Lynne Yamamoto to lecture at Spencer Museum

Installation artist Lynne Yamamoto will give a lecture 6 p.m. Thursday at the Spencer Museum of Art Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Yamamoto, who teaches 3-D design and installation art as an associate professor at Smith College, uses materials to evoke emotion in installations that speak to a larger social and historical context. She has exhibited at both national and international venues, including the Contemporary Museum in Honolulu and the Louisiana Museum in Denmark.

In addition to her lecture, Yamamoto visit graduate studios and an installation art class taught by Maria Velasco, associate professor of visual art at KU.
