Baker women receive NAIA bid
Baldwin City ? Baker University’s women’s basketball team earned an at-large bid to the NAIA Division I tournament, and will face Oklahoma Baptist at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in its first-round matchup at the Independence Events Center in Independence, Missouri.
The Wildcats (21-9 overall, 13-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference) received a No. 7 seed in the 32-team field while the Bison (25-5, 15-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference) will be a No. 2 seed.
If Baker is able to pull off the upset, the Wildcats will move to play the winner of Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) and Martin Methodist (Tenn.).
