KPR host Laura Lorson a two-day champion on ‘Jeopardy!’

Kansas Public Radio host Laura Lorson was once again a champion on “Jeopardy!”

Lorson made her debut on the game show Wednesday, although the episode was taped in January. She’s had to keep the show’s outcome a secret since its taping.

“It’s been really, really hard to keep secrets from my good friends, but I appreciate all the positive feedback,” she said after Thursday’s show aired. “Everybody has been so encouraging.”

In the episode that aired Wednesday, Lorson was a champion with a $11,400 total.

On Thursday’s episode, Lorson again surpassed her competition, as she was the only contestant who correctly knew the response to Final Jeopardy answer — Juliette Low, founder of the Girl Scouts — and was the day’s champion with just over $22,000. That’s a two-day total of over $33,000, with a chance to increase her winnings even more as returning champion on Friday’s episode.

Lorson said she doesn’t enjoy watching herself on television or being the person in the spotlight, but she appreciates all the positive feedback she’s received.

Keeping her lips sealed about her future episodes, Lorson said viewers will have to keep tuning into the show to find out what happens.
