KU golfers 5th at Louisiana

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team finished fifth among 14 teams Tuesday in the Louisiana Classics Invitational.

Daniel Hudson led the Jayhawks with a 1-under total of 215. Hudson fired rounds of 67, 73 and 75 and tied for eighth place in the 81-player field.

KU’s Chase Hanna shot a final-round 72 and finished at 1-over 217 to place 11th.

Illinois won the tournament with a 19-under 845 total, followed by Texas State (867), Louisiana (873), Kent State (876), Kansas (877) and Southeastern Louisiana (880).

KU’s Spencer Painton, competing as an individual, tied for 25th with a 5-over 221. Ben Welle, Connor Peck and Brock Drogosch tied for 41st at 224. Illinois’ Thomas Detry won the tournament with a 13-under 203.
