Valley Falls ? Bishop Seabury Academy’s boys basketball team opened sub-state with a 53-42 victory Monday at Valley Falls.

The Seahawks (12-8) were led by freshman guard Zach McDermott, who scored a team-high 19 points.

“He just had a great game,” Seabury coach Ashley Battles said. “Zach completely controlled the game for us tonight.”

Seabury will face top-seeded Jackson Heights (18-2) in the sub-state semifinals on Thursday at Valley Falls.
