Given his recent tear, Kansas University junior Perry Ellis had to be an easy pick for this week’s Big 12 Player of the Week honors.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Wichita averaged a double-double — 26.0 points and 11.0 rebounds — this past week, as his Jayhawks lost at Kansas State and beat Texas at home.

Ellis hit 10 of his 16 shots at K-State, grabbed nine rebounds and procured two steals. He finished the week even stronger, with his seventh double-double of the season — 28 points and 13 rebounds — versus UT.

This marks the third time this season Ellis has earned the weekly award.
