Lawrence High senior Kyleigh Severa qualified for the AAU national track meet in the 200- and 400 meters last weekend.

A three-time Class 6A state champion in the 4×400 relay and runner-up in the long jump last season, Severa finished fifth in the 400 and sixth in the 200 at a regional qualifier in St. Louis.

She competes for the Northeast Kansas Track Club. Nationals begin on July 31 at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.
