Aquahawks openings: The Aquahawks are always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. KU women’s camps: New Kansas University women’s basketball coach Brandon Schneider will hold four camps this summer. They are the Individual Camp (June 21-23), Jayhawk Team Jamboree (June 27) and two sessions of the Junior Jayhawk Camp (June 29-July 2 and July 20-23). Called To Greatness Basketball Camps: The Lawrence Called to Greatness girls camp is July 1-2 from 9 a.m.-noon. Chalmers golf: The seventh annual Mario V. Chalmers Foundation Golf Tournament and VIP Mixer will be July 27 at Alvamar. The yearly tournament is hosted by former Kansas University/current Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Lawrence’s new Teen Center. Individual spots for the golf tournament are $150, and foursomes are $600 and include invitation to the VIP mixer and awards ceremony. Bike ride: The Lawrence’s Bike Club’s Summer Fun Beginners Bike Ride will be every Monday through Aug. 31. Ride begins at 6:30 p.m. at Cycle Works, 2121 Kasold Dr. Approximately 10 mph for 10 miles mostly on Lawrence Bike Path. Tech tips first Monday of each month. Helmet required, water bottle recommended.

Brandon Schneider Golf: The inaugural Brandon Schneider Golf Tournament will tee off on Aug. 22 at Alvamar Golf and Country Club. Registration is open for singles, pairs and foursomes. Cost is $100 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, dinner and a goodie bag. All proceeds from the tournament support Kansas women’s basketball and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center. Golf begins at 1 p.m., with a shotgun start of the four-person scramble. Dinner will follow at 6 p.m., and includes live and silent auctions. Throughout the day, participants will get a chance to meet the 2015-16 Kansas women’s basketball team and staff, who will be on the course cheering and visiting with the teams. Jayhawk Float Fly: The Jayhawk Model Masters are hosting a Float Fly on June 27 at Clinton Lake Boat Ramp 7 in the Bloomington area. The R/C Airplane Show is free and will feature amphibious model aircraft from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Spectators are appreciated.

Burkart to play in PGA Professional: Nick Burkart, a 2007 Free State High graduate and four-year letterman for FSHS golf, will compete in the 2015 PGA Professional National Championship. The tournament will be played at Philadelphia Cricket Club on Sunday through Wednesday, with a telecast available on The Golf Channel. Burkart, a graduate of the University of Nebraska, works at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, where he is a PGA assistant golf professional.
