Letter: Less safe

To the editor:

Beginning July 1, it will be legal for virtually anyone over 21 and not a felon to carry a concealed handgun into a public place such as a church, theater, bar or bank unless an approved sign is posted. Individuals who do this also won’t have to have any firearm safety training. The reality is there are very few unsafe places in Kansas which might warrant carrying a handgun. This unwise law makes the public less safe and should be repealed in the next legislative session.
