Philadelphia ? Former Kansas University center Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has suffered a setback in the healing process of his right foot, Philly.com reported Saturday.

He missed the 2014-15 season after suffering a stress fracture in a bone in his foot on June 20, 2014. General manager Sam Hinkle said a recent CT scan revealed less healing than anticipated.

“Together with Joel and his representatives, we will continue to consult with the experienced team of doctors who have been an integral part of his evaluation, while also engaging in dialogue with a broader set of experts and specialists,” Hinkle said.

Embiid now is not expected to play summer league basketball for the second straight summer.
