Eugene, Ore. ? Kansas University juniors Sydney Conley and Daina Levy earned All-American honors Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor track and field championships.

Conley placed fifth in the women’s long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 8 inches and became an All-American for the third straight year.

Levy claimed sixth place in the women’s hammer throw with a toss of 208-1.

“I can’t be upset at all about my performance today,” Conley said. “I PR’d, which is always what you want to do at the NCAA championships. I knew I was capable of doing that and, at the end of the day, I did what I had to do. Being an All-American for the third time is a huge honor, so I’m definitely pleased with what I did today.”

Junior Hannah Richardson was 22nd in the semifinals of the 1500 meters. And sophomore Zainab Sanni was 24th in the semifinals of the 200 meters. Richardson and Sanni failed to advance.

KU senior Lindsay Vollmer competed in the heptathlon but fouled in the long jump and did not finish the final three events.

The meet will continue today through Saturday, with men’s events scheduled for today and women’s events slated for Saturday.
