Douglas County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka.

The strongest chance for severe storms is before 10 p.m., the NWS said, noting damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding are possible.

Friday’s forecast calls for more thunderstorms, but the chances for that system to develop severe storms was low as of Thursday evening, forecasters said.
