Robert A. Long, 24, and Rachael A. Hampton, 20, both of Lawrence, are accused of involvement in a Feb. 8 armed robbery at a home, 1621 W. 19th Terrace, where three men were held at gunpoint, robbed of cash and shot, according to court documents. The victims survived but were injured, Lawrence police have said.

Hampton is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated kidnapping. Long is charged with the same, plus one count of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A third defendant, Caleb K. Chrisman, is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated kidnapping.

Hampton and Long were set to have a preliminary hearing Thursday, but their attorneys asked the court to push out the proceeding. The attorneys said they had only recently received important discovery on the case and would need more time to prepare.

Douglas County District Judge Kay Huff granted their requests, rescheduling the expected two-day hearing for Sept. 9 and 10.

Long, Hampton and Chrisman remain in the Douglas County Jail.
