64-year-old man injured in riding mower accident

A 64-year-old man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Monday evening after an accident with his riding lawn mower, police said.

Around 7 p.m. the man was mowing his lawn in the 1600 block of North 600 Road when his riding mower rolled over, pinning him underneath, said Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kristin Dymacek.

Emergency first responders were able to lift the mower off the man, and he was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Dymacek said.

Further information on the accident was not available Monday evening.
