40 years ago: Governor recommends full-time funding for Clinton Lake staff

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Jan. 30, 1975:

In Topeka this week, Gov. Robert F. Bennett offered the Kansas Legislature a trimmed-down version of State Park and Resources Authority budget requests for work on, and maintenance of, Perry and Clinton state parks. The governor said that while he was recommending most parks be maintained at present standards during the next fiscal year, he endorsed funding for full-time operations at two new state parks, including Clinton, which was due to open late in 1976. The decision, if approved, would mean that the park would receive funds for three full-time employees beginning July 1. A patrol officer, a maintenance worker, and a laborer would be hired with funds from a $71,801 budget.
