McLouth ? Kalim Dowdell and Chad Stieben combined for 41 points to lead Veritas Christian to a 61-49 boys basketball victory over Kansas City Christian in the first round of the McLouth tournament Tuesday.

Dowdell scored 22 points on nine of 15 shooting and corraled 17 rebounds to complete a double-double.

The Eagles controlled the glass by outrebounding KC Christian, 41-25.

Stieben was also a rebound short of a double-double with 19 points and nine boards.
