• The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce has added three new businesses to the organization. Genesis Health Clubs, 2339 S. Iowa St., Town Place Suites Lawrence Downtown, 900 New Hampshire St., and Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q, 1516 W. 23rd St., all joined the chamber last week.

• Meritrust Credit Union donated $25,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas organization during the halftime of a Jan. 4 KU men’s basketball game. The money was offered to the organization along with a surprise gift of 12 new bicycles for children members.

• The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce will preview its 2015 business plan at its annual meeting Jan. 30. The meeting will be held at Abe & Jake’s Landing, 8 E. 6th St. At the meeting the chamber will also recap accomplishments from 2014 and recognize recipients of the Crown Automotive ATHENA Award and the Citizen of the Year Award. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber’s website through Jan. 26.
