Thomas Robinson claimed by 76ers

Thomas Robinson won’t be a Brooklyn Net after all. The former Kansas Jayhawk, who was traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Denver Nuggets last week and then released by the Nuggets at his request, was claimed off waivers Tuesday by the Philadelphia 76ers.

It had been reported that Robinson had lined up a 10-day contract agreement with Brooklyn, but both ESPN and Yahoo Sports reported the Sixers claimed him shortly after 4 p.m.

Robinson, the No. 5 pick in the 2012 NBA draft, makes nearly $3.7 million

He has averaged 4.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 172 career games.
