Freezing rain, snow may cause hazardous travel conditions Friday night

A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow will move across northeast Kansas on Friday evening.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Douglas County from 6 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.

The forecast predicts ice accumulation of less than a quarter of an inch, with snow accumulations around one inch.

The weather service cautions that the snow and ice will cause hazardous travel conditions Friday night through Saturday morning.
