Arts Center to stage family-friendly ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ ‘Anansi the Spider’
The Lawrence Arts Center will stage a family-friendly two-part dance performance this weekend with “Sleeping Beauty” and “Anansi the Spider.”
“Sleeping Beauty” is a classical ballet that recreates the fairy tale through dance. Based on a beloved African folk tale, “Anansi the Spider” tells the tale of an all-wise spirit who often appears as an ordinary spider.
Performances will take place at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. Tickets cost $6 for children, $8 for seniors and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the Arts Center or online at www.lawrenceartscenter.org.
