KU and Ford Motor Co. to offer a $10,000 scholarship this year

The Ford Motor Co. will provide Kansas University’s Center for Design Research with a $10,000 scholarship for the 2015-2016 academic year, the university said in a release.

The scholarship, called the Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship, will be awarded to an engineering or industrial design student, the release said. The student must be a sophomore or junior specializing in automotive engineering or industrial design and hold a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Mulally, former CEO of Ford who retired last year, graduated from KU with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering.

Students must apply through the Center for Design Research by March 25, the release said.
