Topeka man pleads guilty to aggravated theft and burglary charges

A Topeka man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to aggravated burglary and theft charges stemming from crimes he committed in Lawrence in 2013, Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson said in a news release.

In October 2013, Robert Lee Davis, 39, stole a credit card out of a basement apartment in the 900 block of Ohio Street, which he entered without permission, the release said. Davis then used the stolen credit card at several Topeka businesses.

Davis is scheduled to be sentenced at 4 p.m. March 25, the release said. The state is recommending a seven-year prison sentence.
