Today in Lawrence: Sexy science, revenge of the nerds

Back to fridgeness

That chill in the air is from more than just our bad pun: Today will be a cold one. Look for a high of 38 this afternoon (not terrible) followed by an overnight low of 12 (terrible) with single-digit wind chills. Bundle up.

Sexy science

Tonight, the KU Natural History Museum will do it like they do on the Discovery Channel with an offbeat take on Sexy Science, 7 to 9 p.m. at 1345 Jayhawk Blvd. “Play our sexy scavenger hunt, win date night prizes in our hashtag contest and enjoy some free ‘aphrodisiacs.'” (KU’s copy, not ours.) Presented by the KU Natural Science Community Organization, the Peer Health Educators, Spectrum and Surge for KU students.

Revenge of the nerds

And don’t miss No. 35: The Nerd’s Tale as Nerd Nite helps bid farewell to Pachamamas at the Alton Ballroom, 800 New Hampshire St. Topics will include Journalism and its New Privacy Problem; Human Trafficking in the Heartland; and Feminists Tackle Porn: From Handmaid’s Tale to Herself.com. $1 cover.
