Lawrence woman arrested in connection with stabbing

A 40-year-old Lawrence woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 1900 block of Miller Drive. Mary Cowdin, of Lawrence, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery in what police said was a domestic dispute.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Lawrence police Sgt. Max Miller. Miller did not have any additional information about the nature of injuries or condition of the victim.

Cowdin was being held without bond in the Douglas County Jail.
