Roeland Park ? Free State High’s wrestling team picked up two victories Wednesday at the Bishop Miege double duals — defeating the host Stags, 54-20, and Olathe East, 54-24.

Free State sophomore Tate Steele won by decision over Olathe East’s De’Khayle McFarland in a battle of wrestlers who are among the top ranked wrestlers in their respective weight classes. Both wrestled up at the 132-pound division, with the 126-pound Steele edging the 120-pound McFarland.

Ben Hill also helped highlight the double dual for the Firebirds by pinning his opponent after he was trailing in his 145-pound match with the Hawks.

FSHS will compete next at 9 a.m. Saturday at Leavenworth.
