Five city football players were selected for the 2015 All-Simone Team on Tuesday, which recognizes the best players in the Kansas City metro area at each position.

Free State senior quarterback Bryce Torneden and senior linebacker Sam Skwarlo, along with Lawrence High senior running back JD Woods, senior defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe and senior linebacker Price Morgan were all honorees.

Bledsoe was also named as a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Memorial Award, which is given to the best lineman/linebacker in Missouri’s and Kansas’ top two classes.

Mill Valley senior receiver and defensive back Christian Jegen was one of the finalists for the Thomas Simone Award, which is given to the most outstanding player in the KC area.
