No injuries in single-vehicle rollover accident

The driver in a single-vehicle accident was uninjured after his vehicle flipped over just outside of the Lawrence city limit Sunday morning.

The accident occurred about 10 a.m. near the intersection of North 1700 and East 1600 roads northeast of Lawrence.

The driver, a male in his early 20’s, was able to climb out of the vehicle unassisted and was treated at the scene for minor scrapes, said Sgt. Vince Gonzalez with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. There were no other vehicles on the road at the time of the accident, Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said the vehicle, a Toyota Yaris, rolled one time before landing on its top in a ditch, and that speed and loose gravel were likely contributors to the accident.
