Lawrence native Michael Andrew set a meet record in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2015 Speedo Junior National Championships on Sunday at the Northside Aquatics Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The 16-year-old Andrew won in 54.99 seconds, breaking the old meet record of 55.46 set in 2010 by Vlad Morozov.

Andrew also broke a meet record in his win in the 100 butterfly on Saturday, breaking the national age-group record among 15-16-year-olds in 52.57 seconds. On Friday, he finished second in the 100 freestyle (50.21).
