Heart to heart with Dr. Reed

William A. Reed, chair of Cardiovascular Services at Kansas University Hospital, will present a reading and talk for his newly published memoir, “The Pulse of Hope.” The event will take place in the Jayhawk Ink Lounge of the KU Bookstore, level 2 in the Kansas Union, 1301 Jayhawk Blvd. Reed is a pioneer in heart transplantation, a nationally renowned horseman, a poet, philosopher, and philanthropist. The reading, talk and signing is from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Take Back the Night

Join GaDuGi SafeCenter for the final event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Take Back the Night walk and rally will start at the Kansas Union at 7 p.m. for a solidarity march to South Park, where participants will gather for a community rally and speak-out circle at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the GaDuGi SafeCenter website. The Kansas Union is at 1301 Jayhawk Blvd.; the rally will be at South Park, 13th and Massachusetts Street.
